Project Work Of Computer

Hard disk A hard disk drive (HDD), hard disk, hard drive, or fixed disk[b] is an electro-mechanical data storage device that uses magnetic storage to store and retrieve digital data using one or more rigid rapidly rotating platters coated with magnetic materia The primary characteristics of an HDD are its capacity and performance. The two most common form factors for modern HDDs are 3.5-inch, for desktop computers, and 2.5-inch, primarily for laptops HDDs were the dominant secondary storage device for general-purpose computers beginning in the early 1960s. HDDs are a type of non-volatile storage, retaining stored data even when powered off. HDDs are connected to systems by standard interface cables such as PATA (Parallel ATA), SATA (Serial ATA), USB or SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) cables. A hard disk drive, hard disk, hard drive, or fixed disk is an electro-mechanical data storage device that uses magnetic storage to store and retrieve digital data using one or more rigid rapidly rotating platters coated with magnetic material The platters are paired with magnetic heads, usually arranged on a moving actuator arm, which read and write data to the platter surfaces. HDDs are a type of non-volatile storage, retaining stored data even when powered off. In 1973, IBM introduced a new type of HDD code-named "Winchester". The 2011 Thailand floods damaged the manufacturing plants and impacted hard disk drive cost adversely between 2011 and 2013. Hard disk isna non-voltile secondary storage device conteaning stack of circular shiny disks mounted on a central spindle. Each disk is known as platter. Each platter is coasted on both sides with a magnetic material. Data can be read from and witten onto the disk with the help of read/write heads. Hard disk gemerally offer more storage and quick access to data. It is similar to a flopdisk but it can store large amount of data and provides relatively faste access. Hard disk is generally fitted inside the system unit. it also contains all of all system files from which your computer will run. The normal speed of hard disk is 3600 to 7200 revolutions per second. Hard disk is highly reliable as it is a less chance to data damage. The read or write head of the hard disk moves across its surface. Storage Capacity of hard disk varies from Giga byte to Tera bytes.. The hard disk rotates while recording data.
